  • Peter Cardoz

    FOUNDER

    Peter is an eleven year, veteran scientist having experience working in drug development, DNA sequencing, CRISPR research, and commercial cannabis laboratories. Having a deep passion for cannabis, food, and medicine, he focuses on blending these three to innovate the consumer experience.

    Beginning in 2010, Peter started his laboratory career working as an intern in a cancer research lab at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, continuing his work when the project transitioned to drug development and moved to Case Western Reserve University through 2014. During this period, he spent much of his free time researching the many benefits of cannabis for severe health conditions.

    After graduating UCONN in 2015 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Microbiology, Peter continued his laboratory career by accepting a position at UCONN sequencing the DNA of microbes, followed by a position in a CRISPR patent lab at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine until 2018.

    In 2018, Peter formally made his move into the cannabis industry by accepting a manufacturing position. Here he learned the techniques of running commercial hydrocarbon closed-loop systems and Wiped Film short path distillation systems, as well as the day-to-day operations of commercial cannabis manufacturers.

    After losing his father, Floyd Cardoz, Peter left his position in 2020 and started Cardoz Blended Gourmet. With CBG, he offers consulting to assist new and consumer focused manufacturers as well as home cultivators achieve their goals.
